A timeout may occur before connecting to the proxy, while establishing TLS to the destination, or while waiting for the destination response.

Steps

1. Test DNS resolution for the proxy host.
2. Test TCP connectivity to the proxy port.
3. Run one curl request with a finite timeout.
4. Try another supported location or endpoint.
5. Reduce concurrency and disable aggressive retries.
6. Record the timestamp, endpoint, protocol, and error stage before contacting support.
