Username and password authentication is suitable when the client IP changes or when credentials must travel with the connection configuration.
Steps
- Copy the generated username and password from the dashboard.
- Enter them in the proxy fields supported by your browser, application, or HTTP client.
- Avoid URL-encoding mistakes when a credential contains special characters.
- Rotate exposed credentials and update every dependent client.
Checks and notes
- A 407 response usually means credentials were missing, rejected, or formatted incorrectly.
For account-specific values, use the endpoint, port, credentials, and location shown in your MaskProxy dashboard. Do not publish proxy credentials in screenshots, tickets, or public code repositories.
