Residential vs. Datacenter Proxies

MaskProxy currently provides four types of proxies for sale: rotating residential proxy - GB, rotating datacenter proxy - GB, static residential proxy - IP, static datacenter proxy - IP. Understanding the difference between "residential/datacenter" and "dynamic/static" can help you choose a suitable solution faster.

Look at two dimensions first

Dimension Meaning More suitable scenarios
Residential proxy Exit IP Closer to the real user network environment Tasks that require more natural residential network characteristics, account scenarios, and access environments
datacenter proxy Egress IP comes from the data center resource pool Automated tasks that value speed, bandwidth, stable throughput, and cost control
Dynamic proxy Egress IP Switchable by request, session or task Batch access, data collection, tasks that require export rotation
Static proxy Fixed exit IP, used for a fixed period of time Account login, long-term tasks, network monitoring, scenarios that require stable identity

How to choose four types of products

Products Billing method Core features Suitable scenarios
rotating residential proxy - GB By GB Traffic accounting Residential network features, exports can be rotated Data collection, account-related tasks, residential IP required Access
rotating datacenter proxy - GB By GB Traffic accounting Fast speed, high bandwidth, and more controllable costs Large-scale automation, price monitoring, interface connectivity testing
static residential proxy - IP Fixed duration IP Stable ISP Residential IP, suitable for long-term maintenance Account management, fixed identity, business with high stability requirements
static datacenter proxy - IP Fixed duration IP Fixed datacenter exit, stable connection, low delay Network monitoring, data analysis, long-term automation tasks

Protocol Description

The above products support HTTP and SOCKS5 protocols when connected. SOCKS5 is a connection protocol, not a proxy product type sold separately.

Quickly determine

  • Need residential network features and control costs based on usage: select rotating residential proxy - GB.
  • Require high throughput, low latency and batch tasks: select rotating datacenter proxy - GB.
  • Requires a fixed residential IP: select static residential proxy - IP.
  • Requires a fixed datacenter IP: select static datacenter proxy - IP.
